What we expect from you Our law firm is currently searching for a bookkeeper to add to our expanding company. The bookkeeper role will be comprised of financial, administrative and clerical responsibilities, under the guidance of the accountant and department leadership team. The ideal bookkeeper for this position will be comfortable with being responsible for recording the company’s financial accounts and records. This role will be responsible for completing payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. Due to the nature of the company, the candidate should be detail orientated and have the ability to work well with others on a team. Duties and Responsibilities Monitor account balances, track expenses, prepare analyses of accounts and related financial activity to produce monthly financial reports. Inspect paid and unpaid invoices including cleared payment inquiries and check voiding to maintain accurate files and records according to company standards. Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects payment process, including processing invoices for payment and documenting loans. Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records Managed data entry duties as it pertains to invoices, payment and additional accounting support needs. Collect data and prepare monthly metrics to assist with month-end closing Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail or personally Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma (or G.E.D.) Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred Ability to understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to work under supervision; exercise judgment and confidentiality. Must demonstrate attention to detail and maintaining a routine; organizational skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
