Our Expectations & Requirements

- Have at least 4 years of general kitchen experience and 2 years of sous chef experience, managing in restaurants of similar caliber.

- General Knowledge of food costing, scheduling, HR handling and all local and national laws pertaining to labor

- Management of a seasonally driven, progressive kitchen. Grasp of food trends and modern restaurants and bars.

- Ability to be consistently punctual and ready to work at your scheduled in-time.

- Must possess a valid food manager's certificate.

- Promote cleanliness and organization through your own actions and ensure adherence to food safety standards from all kitchen staff.

- Have strong knife skills and the ability to prepare and plate all dishes according to the restaurant’s standards.

- Ability to lift 50 pounds and be comfortable standing for extended periods of time. May be required to continuously bend, reach, and twist during a shift.

-Be able to understand production needs and effectively communicate in a team environment.

- Help to instill company culture, build morale, and create an inclusive and ongoing positive work environment, using established procedures as well as newly developed initiatives.

- Work with the team to create, train, and educate staff on new menu items and changes in procedures for current menu items.

Essential Functions

- Expedite Service with an eye for proper cooking technique as well as consistency in products.

- Make sure food quality is high and consistent.

- Handle all food-related decisions pertaining to guest issues or front of house questions.

- Have a hand in training all members of staff to be able to cross stations

- Check for proper cleanliness per COG Health protocols and to maintain a clean kitchen

- Cook on line as needed, to train, cover on shift, or the help with line pushes

- Monitor kitchen functionality and correctly fix any maintenance issues

- Prep food as needed for the line, weekly specials, or monthly events

- With the prep cook, maintain an organized walk-in and dry storage area

- Create organizational standards for new menu items

- Create new weekly menu items for promotions

- Create new menu items for the regular menu seasonally

Administrative

- Order all food products for production and service and maintain updated par sheets

-Schedule all food prep with the prep staff maintain updated prep lists

-Create schedules and handle employee requests regarding scheduling

-Handle all staff issues with proper paperwork

-Hire and maintain kitchen pertaining to labor needs

-Orientate new members of staff so that they understand the employee handbook
