This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plan and perform experiments independently
Prepare lab reports and manuscripts
Performs a variety of immunology and virology assays and procedures including cell culture, ELISA, western blot, PCR, plaque assay, and flow cytometry
Assists with the conduct of studies with animals
Interacts and perform team studies with other researchers, including graduate students and research staff
Capable of presenting data at scientific meetings
Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Ability to plan and perform experiments independently
Ability to observe and record experiments/research and report accurately
Writing skills for protocols, reports, journal manuscripts and funding applications
Mentoring and teaching skills for interaction with graduate students
Presentation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior training/experience with animal and/or immunological studies
