Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in the education sector located in Galveston, Texas. This role will primarily involve assisting with library events, managing calendars, providing high volume customer service, and other administrative tasks.Responsibilities: Checking in and out for meeting rooms and managing calendars. Providing high volume customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Assisting with library events and creating displays. Collecting and reporting library statistics data monthly. Assisting and teaching students, faculty, staff, and community members how to access and acquire information using the online public access catalog, online databases, and print resources. Processing customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintaining accurate customer credit records. Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments. Assisting customers with their inquiries and needs. Performing data entry tasks as required. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative assistant role within the education industry Proficiency in customer service and ability to assist customers with a positive attitude Strong data entry skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to work independently and as part of a team Problem-solving skills and ability to think critically Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
