Position Description:The Switch Tech III provides operations and maintenance services for analog, digital, and voice over IP (VoIP) telephony switches, servers, systems, components, and ancillary systems and equipment. The Switch Tech III completes work orders, trouble tickets, and performs routine maintenance on communications systems and equipment in the Dial Central Office (DCO) and remote locations. The Switch Tech III performs administration, configuration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance services for:switches and serversoperating systems and software running on switches, servers, and remote switching units and media gatewaysvoicemail equipment and systemsdistribution frames, special circuits, and multiplexerssynchronous optical network transport equipment (SONET)conference bridges and hardwarepower distribution systemsSkills:Program moves, adds, and changes in the switch to provide dial tone to end usersConfigure and troubleshoot calling features, conference bridges, and special circuitsSet up voicemail boxes, configure voicemail features, reset voicemail passwords, and troubleshoot customer issuesInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot cable trunks, pairs, and wiringExperience:The Switch Tech III will have at least seven (7) years of experience on Nortel / Avaya SL-100 with the SE09 release (CS2100), Nortel remote switching units, and Avaya media gateways. Experience will include Avaya Ethernet Routing Switches, Ciena SONET equipment, and SecureLogix enterprise telephony firewalls. Experience will also include Nortel CallPilot voicemail and Meridian mail, KandR Telephone Management System (TMS) software, and Amcom / Spok Automated Directory Attendant System (ADAS).Required Certifications:Possess baseline (such as CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security) certifications to meet IAT Level II requirements in accordance with DoD 8570.01 MAvaya SL-100 / CS2100 certificationTraining:Meridian SL-100 [Avaya CS2100] courseAvaya/Nortel CS1000 courseAdditional Information and Requirements:Secret Security ClearancePhysical Demands:For extended periods of time while performing essential duties, the Switch Tech III may climb and work from a ladder; push, pull or lift up to 25 pounds; and stoop, bend, stand, crouch and crawl in confined spaces.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.CORDEV is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
