Description We are in search of a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team located in Palo Alto, California. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity in the tech industry. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions, as well as monitoring quality assurance metrics.Responsibilities: Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools Review system requirements and provide feedback in a timely manner Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases Coordinate and prioritize testing activities Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved Liaise with internal teams such as developers and product managers to identify system requirements Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions Track and report quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts Stay updated with new testing tools and test strategies. Requirements Proficiency in planning, reviewing, and executing quality assurance processes Experience in designing test cases and plans Ability to report metrics effectively to track quality assurance progress Strong knowledge of SQL and Java for backend development Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites for documentation and reporting purposes Experience with REST API, GIT, and Selenium for effective defect management and bug tracking Understanding of specification, corrective action, and regression analysis Ability to liaise with internal teams to ensure quality assurance standards are met Experience in debugging applications Proficiency in object-oriented programming Experience in automated testing for efficiency and accuracy Familiarity with test plan creation and execution Ability to manage defects and track bugs effectively Experience in backend development for comprehensive quality assurance.
