This position will also be part of the site leadership team. This position will be “R&D Integration manager” focused on all activity with Heat Pump technology. This position will work closely with all functions, Engineering, Marketing and Product Management, Customer and Product Support, Sales and Marketing, Sustaining Engineering, Quality, IT, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, and Operations to ensure the growth of the heat pump (CO2) base product. This role will evolve into other R&D CO2 base product development responsibilities, as priorities allow/dictate.Responsibilities:

Lead and develop engineering for the decarbonization of heating and hot water industry focus on CO2 base heat pump designs.

Support / Lead all aspects of heat pump life cycle, including supporting brand roadmaps, working with product management to support system testing for implementing key growth initiatives from conception through launch. This may include; Conducting product tests / experiments to support customer functional / application needs for competitive market dynamics; Working with OEM to extend heat pump functionality / extend applications; Working with product management and sales to specify market requirements for current and future products; Work with product management and NPD for product realization process; Support production testing – develop / update all production functional test requirements.

Work with Operations teams to ensure on time delivery – provide support for product diagnostics/rework/ test set development and facility planning. Work with Operations to lay out R&D lab in conjunction with production test facility. Work directly with sales to provide technical support.

Develop diagnostic tools and corrective action matrix to be used by Field service personnel and Reps. Work with cross-functional teams to perform Kaizen event to process improvement.

Work with System engineering to support heat pump sizing, integrate R&D team for installation drawing review. Develop product training to support training for production personnel, technical representatives and sales representatives.

Support cross-functional training for sales managers, NPD engineering, pre-sales and post-sales support teams, and provide support through product lifecycle. Collaborate with sales and marketing to support go-to-market activities, sales promotions/campaigns, etc.

Work with quality organization to collect all quality related issues, communicate with product management and outside companies for any product design or process improvements.

Must be able to travel based on role/business needs. Up to 20%.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

6+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations. Which would include; production planning and scheduling, operations or engineering management, relevant technical knowledge/experience, quality and regulatory systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in an engineering field from an accredited university.

Strong team facilitation and leadership skills to drive effective decision-making and execution of action plans.

Ability to tactfully assign task accountability and recognize accomplishments on behalf of WAS leadership.

Ability to create processes for tracking, prioritizing and forecasting resources and funding to support all R&D activities reference in responsibilities.

Strong communications toolset that allows for simplifying complex issues and interactions.

Able to identify and prioritize needed actions to elevate barriers of various nature (technical, administrative, resource requirements).

Able to team effectively with site leadership, factory personnel, Engineering and other functions with high degree of performance credibility.

Able to justify resource requirements with appropriate financial analysis and business rationale.

Understanding of lean principles and constraint theory for managing R&D resources and cross-functional support.

Must be able to be effective in working in cross-functional teams, matrixed organization.

Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodology.

MANAGEMENT:

Lead cross-functional teams, drive decision-making and prioritize resources.

Foster team collaboration and ensure accountability within teams.
