Process shipment information to generate shipping labels for parcel shipments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Inspect picked parts for appropriate quantity and description

Package parts and assemblies for parcel and freight shipping

Weigh and tag shipments with reference numbers, attentions, and special instructions

Document packaging and reference information on packing lists, pick lists, and record sheets

Process/generate shipment through ERP system and label packages

Monitor daily shipping requirements for On Time delivery

Practice and implement Lean Manufacturing techniques

Assist shipping dock with document and packaging processes as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School or equivalent experience

Preferred 2 years’ experience in small parcel packaging and handling

DECISIONMAKING RESPONSIBIITIES

Choosing correct packaging size and material to ensure safe travel of items

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & ABILITIES

Proficient computer skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Read and use tape measure and understand basic geometry

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

Self-motivated to maintain a clean work area

WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed in a manufacturing environment. When in the shop environment, conditions vary based on the area. Operation of the forklift may involve direct exposure to seasonal weather conditions.PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

Constantly involves walking, standing, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting from the neck and waist, power grasping, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.

Occasionally requires sitting and simple grasping.

Frequently involves bending at the neck and waist.

Involves driving a forklift, working around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures/humidity, dust, gas fumes or chemicals, working at heights, operating of foot controls and repetitive food movement, and is required to utilize protective equipment as needed.
