Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave TX 76104

Work environment: Clinical Pastoral Education

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, rotating shifts, some weekend, and holiday requirements.

1-year residency program

Bachelor's Degree Req AndMaster's Degree Master's of Divinity or its equivalent from a CHEA accredited theological school. 1 Year In progress. Req

1 unit of CPE. Pref

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Chaplain will

Demonstrate Graduate School level proficiency in written and verbal English.

Have Relational skills sufficient to work effectively as a member of the department, the health care team, and to relate to community clergy.

Be able to work appropriately with highly stressed persons in both crisis and chronic situations. Must demonstrate openness and ability to learn about ministry and self.

Demonstrates movement in the integration of theological, ethical, and psychological resources into compassionate pastoral care. Shows competent use of computers, patient charting and electronic communication tools.

Ability to relate to people of all faiths and cultures. Ability to offer religious and spiritual rituals as requested by patients and staff, and able to make referrals to outside faith leaders when appropriate. Ability to promote meaning-making and expressions of faith in the hospital setting.

Works effectively with people during crisis and bereavement, offering compassionate care and support. Work with staff to provide a safe ear, support and counsel.

Works effectively with HIPAA rules and regulations to protect patient confidentiality.

Ability to support and contribute to the Pastoral Care department team functioning as well as the appropriate functioning of the Residency peer group by engendering trust and collaboration.

What You Will Do

Provide pastoral and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff, utilizing active listening, being observant, making good assessments, and applying appropriate interventions.

Documents in patient's medical record as part of the interdisciplinary team care and care plan for patient.

Participates fully in all aspects of the CPE Residency training, at all times.

Participates in Pastoral Care staff meetings. Responsible to know and comply with all Pastoral Care Department policies and procedures. Must complete required Pastoral Care Department training.

Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and team huddles when available.

Participates in the ritual life of the hospital, i.e., Final Salutes, memorial services, celebrations, and weekly worship services.

Completes Employee Health requirements and My Talent modules in a timely manner.

Adhere to all HIPAA rules and regulations. Is familiar with and adheres to all safety standards.
