We are on a mission to rid the world of car crashes by teaching students to be safe and confident drivers for life.About This Role:A certified road tester through TPST (Third Party Skills Test) administers the driving test for Class C non-commercial driver license applicants. It involves the process of testing and evaluating a driver's skills and competence in handling a vehicle, safely, on the road. They are responsible for administering tests, assessing driving abilities, providing feedback, and contributing to overall road safety.Responsibilities:
Conducting Road Tests:
Road testers administer driving tests to evaluate the skills of individuals who have completed their driving lessons or training.
They assess the candidate's ability to handle a vehicle in different road conditions, traffic situations, and environments.
Providing Feedback:
After the test, road testers provide feedback to the candidate about their performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
In the case of a failed test, they explain the reasons why and advise on additional practice or training before retesting.
Issuing Certification:
If the individual passes the test, the road tester issues the appropriate paperwork for a driver's license to take to DPS; or
Submit all paperwork and results through the TPST portal.
Skills:
Extensive Driving Knowledge: A strong understanding of road laws, traffic regulations, and best driving practices.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot any driving mistakes or unsafe behaviors during the test.
Communication Skills: Effectively conveying instructions, explanations, and feedback to candidates in a clear and constructive manner.
Impartial Judgment: Ensuring that the test is conducted fairly and objectively, without bias, following the established guidelines and criteria.
Qualifications:
Experience with scanning and submitting documents through the TPST portal.
Knowledge of completion of road test documents (DE 964, ITTD/ITYD, DL – 14 A and B, etc.)
Licensed Driving Instructor
Must be certified by third party skills tester (TPST Examiner)
A genuine passion for helping people learn
Ability to remain calm in a learning environment
A valid State Driver's License in the state you wish to work in
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check
Must have 10 years of legal driving experience
A strong safety mindset and strong reasoning ability
Ability to give clear instruction, coach, communicate effectively to others
Ability to focus for extended periods of time
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle
Must be able to see and hear during all weather conditions
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, touch, feel
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
