Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper, based in FORT WORTH, Texas. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting monthly reinsurance reporting and settling, general accounting functions and other clerical duties. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with filing and settling deadlines, helping to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency within the team.Responsibilities: Assist in preparing multiple Excel templates for monthly reinsurance reporting Prepare wire requests and support for monthly settlements with fronting carriers, brokers, and reinsurers Prepare and enter journal entries for monthly settlements Assist in preparing journal entries for carrier investments and import data into Schedule D for the Annual and Quarterly statutory filings Support requests from external auditors engaged by the Company and/or by fronting carriers and reinsurers Assist with requests from fronting carriers, brokers, and reinsurers Review detail loss files to ensure accuracy of reported loss totals by treaty period Assist with ad hoc reporting Support other employees in the department as needed Requirements Proficiency in bookkeeping is required for the role. A strong understanding of financial reconciliation is necessary. Experience with statutory financial reporting is critical. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is expected. Familiarity with bookkeeping software and accounting tools is required. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are crucial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is essential. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred. Prior experience in a bookkeeping role is advantageous. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently is desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are needed. A strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation is beneficial. Experience with data analysis and financial forecasting is desired.
