This position is contingent upon award of the ATEC Proposal.The Database Administrator will be responsible for planning and delivering contracted services to the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) located at on-site in Ft Hood, Texas. ATEC is one of DOD s foremost test and training organizations supporting DOD, non-DOD, and commercial materiel developers by testing a broad spectrum of equipment throughout their life cycles, from concept through deployment. The scope of this effort is to provide a select range of Information Technology (IT), IT logistics and cybersecurity services. The IT services encompass all activities necessary to provide project management; software & application development and maintenance; network management; system administration and infrastructure operations including Cloud migration and operations; general IT Support including help desk and VTC; and cybersecurity services.The Database Administrator should have the following experience:
- Bachelor s Degree in Network Engineering, Network Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc or other closely related discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience OR an Associates Degree and 5+ years of experience OR a Master s Degree and 3+ years of experience OR High School/GED and 9+ years of experience
- Experience required in management of Microsoft database technologies including SQL and Access
- Experience in operating system management and configuration; database design, amending existing databases, monitoring database efficiency, maintaining the security and integrity of data and authoring related documentation
- Experience required in the installation and configuration of Windows Server technologies and other government approved server operating systems (e.g., Unix, Red Hat Linux), Microsoft Knowledge (physical database architecture, design, database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, installation, configuration of MS SQL server on Windows Server technologies.
- Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, database consistency checks using DBCC utilities, capacity planning, and Microsoft SQL clusters, SQL DR, HA options as well as contingency planning and log shipping
- Possess certifications including Comp Tia Sec+; Must possess DOD 8570.01-M certifications meeting the requirements for IAT II and at least one current Computing Environment certification.
- IT experience in support of the Army.
- Experience in supporting complex tasks, including review of work products for correctness, compliance with industry 'best practices', DOD standards, and Army standards.
- The hours for this role are Full-time, Regular - Start and End times are dependent on customer requirements
