What you will doAs a Construction Engineer you are responsible for defining and improving the Stryker iSuite offering for new hospital construction and renovation. You will drive improvements in the wall and ceiling product offerings in areas of wall construction, wall materials, integrated cabinets, laminar airflow systems, and integrated windows/monitor enclosures for all types of operating room environments.

Understand construction requirements and hospital building codes and standards and translate building code requirements into design requirements

Update existing construction product offerings with new features and functionalities requested by Customers, Field Engineers, and Marketing

Provide solutions to customer and field requests to meet the OR design needs and requirements

Update and create drawings in CAD system and part PLM system.

Support product test with requirements, engineering analysis, and input to test methods for verifying product meets specification

Review product designs for compliance to national and local building codes (NFPA99, OSHPD, NEC and other building codes in the hospital construction space would be bonus)

Analyze construction designs and materials for cost savings and improvements

Work with project engineers to create OR design templates and installation documentation

Develop multiple solutions to user problems and ability to prototype one or more options for proof of concepts

Work with manufacturing and installation to improve design manufacturability and assembly

Under supervision, research, design, develop, modify, and verify components/modules for medical devices

Demonstrate proficiency with product's intended use and construction

What you needRequired:

Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering or related technical field

2+ years of experience in construction engineering, project management, or similar experience

Experience in large scale construction projects

Knowledge of building designs, blueprints, and models

Knowledge of AutoCAD/Solidworks or other CAD tools

Preferred:

Hospital construction experience
