Responsibilities
Assist in preparing meals, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
Oversee kitchen staff to ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices are followed.
Assist in menu planning and recipe creation, keeping resident preferences and dietary needs in mind.
Monitor inventory, food costs, and waste to maximize efficiency.
Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas and equipment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food preparation and service.
Communicate effectively with dining staff, residents, and management to provide an excellent dining experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Culinary Arts degree or certification or a minimum of five years culinary experience at the Sous Chef level or equivalent.
Previous experience in a culinary leadership role, ideally in a healthcare, senior living, or hospitality environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation guidelines, and dietary restrictions.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and train kitchen staff effectively.
Ability to follow recipes and create delicious meals while managing time efficiently.
Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required based on State / County law.
Residency within the service area is required.
