HOTEL BANQUETS & EVENTS MANAGER
DESCRIPTION
A Banquets & Events Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catered events, ensuring an amazing and positive experience for guests and achieving client satisfaction. We always want all of our clients and guests to be return customers. This is an excellent opportunity!
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and execution: Work with Hotel Sales Catering & Events Manager and Hotel Sales & Catering Coordinator as well as hotel staff, to understand event vision and needs, including venue layout, decor, and scheduling. Collaborate with sales directors, head chefs, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of all event elements.
Team management: Recruit, train, and supervise banquet staff (servers, bartenders, decorators). Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure highest service standards are maintained. Schedule staff for pre-meal assignments, function stations, and communicate special requests or instructions.
Guest relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, accommodating special requests, and ensuring a positive experience from planning to post-event follow-up.
Logistics: Plan and oversee venue setup, including tables, chairs, decorations, and equipment placement, according to event orders. Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage food quality, presentation, and timing of meal courses.
Proven problem-solving skills: Anticipate and address unforeseen challenges during events. Financial management: Manage additional added costs, importantly to include open bar sales.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and other relevant industry regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Effectively interact with clients, staff, and vendors. Strong leadership abilities to motivate, train, and supervise banquet teams. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and under pressure. Customer service excellence with a focus on exceeding guest expectations.
PREFERRED:
Previous Hotel Banquets & Events Manager experience
Proven success in a similar role and environment
Bilingual not required but a plus
Polished personal presentation with warm, confident and hospitable personality a great must
Reliable transportation a must
