39614BRExtended Job Title:TradespersonOrg Level 1:Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El PasoPosition Description:Safely performs journeyman level tasks in the fabrication, construction, maintenance, alteration and repair of fixtures, equipment, structures, buildings, and built-in components for Texas Tech facilities. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Requisition ID:39614BRTravel Required:Up to 25%Major/Essential Functions:

Install and maintain special systems and equipment such as fire alarm systems, conveying systems, telecom, kitchen equipment, life safety systems, hoods, VFD’s, etc.

Participates in the Installation, maintenance, operation and repair of building systems and associated equipment.

Updates and maintains fire plans, emergency evacuation plans and schematic drawings of special systems.

Works with other trades and maintenance staff to complete maintenance and installation of other building systems.

Prepare and submit work documentation, to include work order submission, changes to system (e.g. directories), etc.

Performs all preventive maintenance on assigned systems and equipment.

Coordinates and maintains the departmental vehicle fleet.

Responds to work related radio and pager calls.

Responds to emergency calls during business hours, after-hours, holidays or weekends to correct the problem.

Performs other related and various job duties as assigned including but not limited to function set-ups/clean-ups and general services.

Responsible for keeping all work areas, equipment and tools clean and in excellent working conditions.

Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Driver's License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier.

Must be able to pass the employee Criminal Background Check.

Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
