Job Description SummaryThe Raw Materials Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labor scheduling, and proper utilization of space, equipment and manpower. Key responsibilities include: Supervision of 5 shifts, Staffing, warehouse operations, maintenance of the facility and equipment, implementation of safety/security/housekeeping/and sanitation programs, budgeting, and customer service.The Raw Materials Warehouse Supervisor serves as an interface and coordinator among warehouse operations, receiving, kitting, internal/external customer service and traffic. Works integrally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing/Planning, and other functional groups, ensuring SAP data accuracy.

Leads efforts between Warehouse, Planning, Manufacturing & Quality to ensure optimal material workflow/transactional efficiency and inventory accuracy. Must have the ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and the ability to implement processes or procedures that ensure material flow efficiency.

Participates in change control, product changes and launch activities, interfacing with cross functional groups to ensure that materials are designed in accordance with SAP configuration standards.

Has complete understanding of Inventory Movements from receiving, through manufacturing and shipping, with the intent of becoming SAP and MES Super User for training, process improvements and troubleshooting.

Responsible for meeting Inventory Accuracy Goals. This includes management of the cycle counting process, root cause investigations, and establishing processes for preventative and corrective actions. This also includes management of physical inventories as needed.

May need to take role of project lead when working across functional groups to achieve business goals. Leading without authority, training and communication of business process changes with the Plant functional groups will be essential.

Responsible for MES/SAP Super User for training, process improvements and troubleshooting.

Coordinates and monitors shop-floor activities and system-generated reports to ensure individual and team/function productivity goals are achieved.

The job requires a high level of effective interaction with internal/external departments and the ability to both anticipate and quickly respond to frequent dynamic adjustments to the plan based on multiple factors.

Understands contingency planning and effectively supports Business Continuity/Risk Management.

Supports Continuous Improvements of On-time/Defect-free processes through active engagement in Lean/Six-Sigma/Validation projects, Customer (internal/external) complaint investigations for root cause/corrective action, staffing/resource planning discussions, and management/optimization of SAP Warehouse Management System master data elements. Identifies opportunities to enhance individual and organizational capability, and helps establish productivity and performance goals.

Maintains accurate inventories of raw and packaging materials, MRO and finished products. Conducts physical inventory and/or cycle count, performs discrepancy reconciliation and reports findings to supervisor and accounting. Maintains and controls FIFO inventory system, where applicable.

Contact carrier and assures pick-up and delivery of commodities and finished goods to support the Production and QA/QC task schedule.

Ensures the warehouse operation is conducted in accordance with approved procedures, properly documented and in compliance with ISO, GMP’s, Safety, DOT, Security and other company rules and regulations. Immediately notifies the supervisor about any situation that may impact the warehouse operation. Ensure proper warehouse housekeeping.

Interaction with suppliers for timely pick up of raw materials, execution of equipment preventive maintenance, product delivery for sterilization and to other required support to warehouse operation.

Maintains and control supplies located at warehouse area.

Maintains the control of good receiving and kitting dispatching to Production and other support areas in a timely manner.

Drive the Warehouse team to seek for continuous improvements.

Control movement of materials to and from the outside leased storage area to ensure most efficient use of this space.

Responsible for the protection and maintenance of all equipment such as, lift trucks and facilities under their control in accordance with company procedures and regulations.

Ensures associates are properly trained before using the equipment.

Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and avoiding time lost due to accidents.

Contributes to the quality of the company and its products through active participation in and cooperation with quality related projects and programs. Brings to the attention of Management areas needing quality improvement and works towards the goal of resolving any quality related issues.

Assists area management on creating and/or updating documentation such as SOP and forms.

Monitor space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards. Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary.

Direct the operations of the warehouse leads personnel (in all 4 shifts) to achieve prescribed objectives. In collaboration with TMS, develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development.

Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising leads, counseling, and disciplining subordinates. Implement and appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.

Assist in the development, implementation of programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property. Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed. Report all work-related injuries immediately. Encourage and provide immediate medical attention to injured teammates as necessary. Assure compliance with appropriate government regulations.

Assure that our internal customer orders are received, picked, and ready in a timely fashion within prescribed service levels, productivity standards, and company cost levels. Implement and monitor an effective operation that ensures paperwork is processed accurately and promptly.

Monitor on a daily basis the productivity results of the warehouse. Communicate results with Supervision on a daily basis. Ensure that Warehouse Teammates are given feed-back on productivity results. Make recommendations and implement ways to improve the productivity of the operation.

Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of the other warehouse positions. Assist as required. Act as back up at times of absence or vacation.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications :Knowledge/Skills:

Thorough understanding and working knowledge of Warehousing, Shipping/Receiving, and Transportation functions.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, including the capability to work across multiple functional areas to influence change and achieve desired results.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Project and Word; and Visio or other flow-chart diagramming software.

Must demonstrate BD Values, customer focus, action/results orientation, verbal/written communications, and ability to seek input and feedback from others.

Demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize.

Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies and/or Green Belt certification preferred.

Strong analytical skills.

Previous team building experience preferred.

Previous budget planning and P/L exposure preferred.

Excellent PC Skills (Microsoft Office).

Excellent Public Speaking Skills.

Must have a flexible work schedule. Responsible for 4 shifts of employees.

Education:

BS degree in Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or other related operations discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Experience:

(5) years experience or equivalent knowledge in Warehousing/Logistics and management/supervisory with a proven record of leadership and drive for results.

Solid background with integrated Warehouse Management Systems such as SAP, or equivalent knowledge.

APICS CPIM/CSCP, or active pursuit of this certification.

Preferred:

Experience in MES

Experience in SAP
