Work is performed under the direction of a licensed staff nurse and/or physician as part of a total health care team in providing complete evaluations to patients. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions, necessitating a high degree of contact with patient, families and clinic personnel.Requisition ID:38496BRTravel Required:NoneMajor/Essential Functions:

Responsible for reporting data, identifies and reports alterations in patient responses to assist in the identification of problems and formulation of goals/outcomes and patient-centered plans of patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Assists in determining the physical and mental status, needs and preferences of culturally, ethnically and socially diverse patients and their families.

Responsible for documenting and communicating patient data using EMR to support decision-0making to improve patient care.

Responsible for implementing teaching pans for patients and their families with well-defined health learning needs.

Responsible for participating in the identification of patient needs for referral to resources and facilitates continuity of care.

Responsible for assisting with or performing exams and procedures, including administration of vaccines injections and medications as ordered by the physicians.

Documents intervention in EMR.

Responsible for obtaining and recording accurate vital signs and measurements.

Responsible for providing continued patient care and follow-up.

Responsible for preparing and operating necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments and procedures.

Responsible for sterilizing and disinfecting medical equipment and instruments.

Participates in emergency preparedness drills in department.

Attends Nursing staff meetings.

Maintains inventory of supplies in examination and procedure rooms.

Responsible for educating patient population on their overall health status.

Supervision of Medical Assistants.

Performs other duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or Sr. Staff RN, applicable.

Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited program of vocational nursing or scheduled to complete a program of vocational nursing within 120 days of applying for a position.

Current Vocational Nursing license in the state of Texas or the attainment of a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice vocational nursing pending full licensure in the state of Texas.

New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX- PN) on the first attempt.

No experience required.
