JC Stoddard Construction company is looking for Skilled Carpenters. Skills include reading and interpreting blueprints, studying diagrams to decide where structures should be built, ordering and cutting materials, setting up shoots to pour concrete, measuring distrances using measuring tape, sawing boards, plywood, or timber, nailing materials together, anchoring forms into place using rods, cables, wedges, nails, and timbers, building scaffolds, roof supports, chutes, and framework, building and installing door and window frames, installing subflooring and other fixtures, detecting rot, decay, or chips in framework and making repairs as needed.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license, must be able to do strenuous labor and strenuous physical tasks in all kinds of weather, must be able to work 40 hours per week, must have reliable transportation, and must be punctual and reliable.
This position requires at least 5-7 years of experience in construction, willingness to learn all safety practices, and general knowledge of handheld and battery-operated tools including measuring tape, shop vacuum, hammer, screwdriver, drill, grinder, sander, and saw. Carpenters should have their own basic tools.
Starting pay is approximately $30-31 per hour for carpenters, depending on experience and skills.
