POSITION SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator operates packaging equipment and performs manual tasks in a food manufacturing environment. This position must ensure all quality, physical safety and food safety standards are adhered to and must follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) while performing their duties. The Machine Operator is responsible for the cleaning/sanitation of their work area and must also complete preventative maintenance tasks in the facility. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operation and cleaning of manufacturing equipment and performing manual tasks
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work areas and perform other housekeeping/sanitation tasks as assigned
Perform all required inventory transactions for material usage tracking and process tracking, on paper and electronically
Perform required preventive maintenance and minor repairs
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Preventive Actions, Quality Policy, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Safety policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ year experience working in a food or beverage manufacturing plant
High School Diploma or GED required
Good mathematical aptitudes
Ability to work overtime and to be flexible with schedule worked hours
Punctuality and good attendance
Mechanical experience or aptitude or inclination
Principles of food hygiene and food safety as defined and described on 21 CFR- Part 117 including the importance of employee health and personal hygiene, as appropriate to the assigned duties
Able to stand or sit for prolonged hours, lift 50 lbs. and climb stairs
Must reside in the Palestine, Texas area
