The general range for this position is $19.20 – 22.60 per hour, plus full benefits. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for our Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch (CABBR) in Murchison, TX. Your main responsibility is to maintain and upgrade aspects of the facilities at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch. You will manage one or more programs within the purview of facility maintenance: pasture and landscape; fertilization and planting; herbicides and pesticides; enclosures and fencing; vehicles, roads, and heavy machinery; buildings and infrastructure; plumbing and electrical systems.
You will be responsible for:
Overseeing the budgeting, scheduling, contracting, and project management within one or more of the following programs at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch: pasture and landscape; fertilization and planting; herbicides and pesticides; enclosures and fencing; vehicles, roads, and heavy machinery; buildings and infrastructure; plumbing and electrical systems;
Providing inspection to ensure equipment and facilities are in working order and initiating projects when repair or upkeep are needed;
Directly performing routine repair and upkeep of equipment and facilities;
Assisting in the planning and execution of construction and renovation projects;
Assisting in overseeing and training contractors, staff, volunteers, and interns on technique, procedures, and safety;
Keeping logs to document in-progress and completed maintenance;
Making recommendations on new equipment options;
Performing other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience required;
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in facilities maintenance required. Three (3) years of experience preferred;
Ability to operate heavy equipment, including skid steer, backhoe, and tractors;
A valid driver’s license is required and a clean driving record is strongly preferred, with the ability to demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record while employed;
Proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook);
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
Strong interpersonal skills are necessary;
Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
