Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for overseeing a wide variety of inventory controls. This position will perform inventory control activities for the organization. This position will also maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing products and supplies. Through digital and manual counting you will identify discrepancies with inventory reports and provide report to the Inventory Manager for review. Applies the principles and skills of inventory management, computer processing, electronic database management, inventory/data quality control, simple data tabulation, and reporting. Maintains a clean, visually appealing, and functional work environment in and around the department facilities. Provides support to all divisions of the department.
Essential Responsibilities, includes but are not limited to
Identifies and inspects returned product ensuring product and determines if workable and/or directs to other departments. May assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries
Tracks incoming and outgoing products to ensure inventory stay accurate. Updates database with incoming and outgoing products
Maintain physical condition of warehouse and external grounds to ensure a safe, clean and presentable environment. Maintain safety while using equipment and tools
Assist in the development and train staff on warehousing and inventory control practices and procedures for increased and error-free production.
Provide inventory control reports as required. Prepare reporting of monthly inventory.
Assist to continuously improve digital warehouse management system (WMS).
Ensure federal, state and local regulatory compliance as it relates to warehousing and shipping/receiving functions.
Maintain count accuracy (digital and physical counting). Assist in the coordination of daily cycle counting efforts as well as report, monitor and review daily inventory adjustments and changes. Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed
Work with the warehouse manager to resolve inventory issues / discrepancies, problem orders and intercompany transfer issues.
Recommend and implement process changes to minimize inventory loss and support the movement of dead stock.
Work with the warehouse manager to process and resolve product quality issues and ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers.
Assist in the cycle counting, auditing, researching, quality inspections, customer returns, shortages and inventory adjustments at the facility.
Assist in identifying issues as well as opportunities for improvement related to purchasing, inventory or processes within the facility.
Maintain courteous, professional and effective communications relationships with suppliers, partners, customers and employees.
Use ERP system and ensure data accuracy to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications
2-year or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
2 years of experience in an inventory role
Experience using an ERP and Warehouse Management System, Navision preferred.
Strong knowledge of lean principles – 5s workouts, kaizen and/or lean six sigma.
Ability to gather and analyze data.
Solid judgement along with good decision-making skills.
Ability to perform under pressure with all levels of management.
Great written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail to identify defective products
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
