The Job:
As a Route Sales and Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our customers within your designated territory. This is a route centered around established customers. The opportunities have already taken root and can only grow. You will focus on increasing sales of equipment, small wares, and chemicals, while ensuring customer satisfaction through regular visits, merchandising, and service support. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, customer service, and problem-solving to drive revenue growth and maintain strong relationships with our valued customers.
Responsibilities:
Provide outstanding service to all customers within your assigned territory, building and maintaining strong relationships to drive customer loyalty and retention.
Increase sales of equipment, small wares, and chemicals by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products based on customer needs and preferences.
Merchandise service during customer visits, ensuring customers values our service and partnership.
Generate service reports and review results with customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Provide emergency services to customers as needed, responding quickly and effectively to resolve equipment malfunctions or other urgent issues.
Develop and execute a weekly plan to efficiently manage customer visits, prioritize tasks, and achieve sales targets.
Maintain accurate records of customer product inventory levels, placing orders as needed to replenish stock and meet customer demand.
Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payment and maintain outstanding balances below 30 days.
Manage expenses within budgetary guidelines, seeking cost-saving opportunities while delivering quality service to customers.
Prospect for new customer opportunities within the territory, identifying and pursuing, leads to expand our customer base and revenue potential.
Ensure complete customer satisfaction through proactive communication, responsiveness, and personalized service tailored to each customer's needs and preferences.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales or customer service is a plus.
Proven experience in route sales, customer service, or related field, preferably in the food service industry.
Strong sales acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, negotiate effectively, and close sales.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach and the ability to build rapport quickly.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical aptitude and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and provide basic service and maintenance support.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to lift and carry equipment and products as needed.
Our customers are open after five and on weekends. This requires periodic service and sales after normal business hours
