Job Description:
As a versatile Technology Infrastructure Specialist, specializing in Low Voltage Cabling Installation, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of various technology systems. In addition to low voltage cabling, we are looking for candidates with the expertise to work on a diverse range of equipment, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, printers, CCTV cameras, telecom systems, and access control systems. We welcome applications from individuals with previous experience in installing cabling for telecom and cable companies. This position requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling systems, including voice, data, and video cables.
2. Work on a variety of equipment, such as POS systems, printers, CCTV cameras, telecom systems, and access control systems.
3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
4. Perform site surveys to assess technology needs and identify potential challenges.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to various technology systems.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during installation.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of installed systems and update records as needed.
8. Provide training and support to end-users as required.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
2. Proven experience in low voltage cabling installation and maintenance.
3. Previous experience working as an installer for telecom or cable companies is highly desirable.
4. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including TIA/EIA and BICSI.
5. Proficient in using testing equipment such as cable testers and certification tools.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
10. Personal smartphone for on-site communication and documentation.
11. Cisco console cable for configuration and maintenance of networking equipment.
12. Basic handyman experience is a plus.
Requirements:
- Own a set of low voltage tools, including but not limited to:
- Cable testers
- Crimping tools
- Punchdown tools
- Wire strippers
- Tone and probe kit
- Cisco console cable
- Use a personal laptop for on-site documentation and communication.
- Have reliable transportation for commuting to various project locations.
- Availability of a ladder for accessing cabling installations.
