JOB DESCRIPTION
The Distribution Center Supervisor (floater) is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the distribution center, ensuring the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of inventory and timely completion of assignments. This role requires effective delegation, coaching, and monitoring of associates to meet quality and safety standards. The supervisor will ensure all safety protocols are adhered to, manage inbound and outbound inventory, and maintain clean, organized, and secure warehouse conditions. Additionally, this position serves as a liaison between associates and management, ensuring clear communication and up-to-date training. The supervisor is also accountable for maintaining operational continuity by managing shifts, conducting interviews, and ensuring all processes are executed in compliance with company standards.
Essential Functions
1st and 2nd shifts initially; eventually covering 3rd shift as well
Delegates, assigns, and monitors scheduled assignments to ensure on-time completion
Emphasizes quality over quantity when coaching associates by utilizing quality control checks
Manages the internal and external receiving of inventory is accurate and completed on time
Inspect Trailers for safety and sanitation to validate material handler rejection
Follow up on customer returns (RMAs) and validate that they are returned to inventory stock on time
Enables a culture of safety by ensuring all safety protocols are followed within the distribution center to prevent possible incidents or accidents
Manage all inventory in the Distribution center is properly identified and is in the accurate location
Act as liaison between associates and management, including, but not limited to, relaying new policies or expectations to associates and reporting incidents to management
Ensure staff have up-to-date training, certifications, and evaluations
Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
Monitor that all documentation is clear, neat, and that all information is accurate
Report and correct any unsafe conditions or equipment within the facility
Verify associates are performing the daily checklist on all equipment used
Verify the associate cleans the warehouse areas assigned and deposits trash in the correct dumpster
Ensure facility is kept clean, neat, and organized
Keep records and files on all responsible areas and associates
Make sure the facility is secure before leaving the premises
All other duties as assigned daily
Supervise that all inbounds are unloaded properly and on time
Ensure orders are allocated, released, and pulled in WMS
Verify all orders are certified and loaded properly
Conduct interviews and forklift driving tests for all new hires
Flexibility to accommodate situations that may include day or night shifts, including weekends
Cover the shifts assigned during the week to have a 24/7 operation
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma High School Forklift Certification (Sit down and stand-up forklift) 6 months as a Forklift Operator 2 years of supervisory or warehouse lead experience desired Inventory management experience Able to lift and maneuver cases over 50lbs continuously Able to perform basic math Able to lead others through an adapting operation and set an example of safety standards
