Job description: We are looking for a friendly, warm hearted, good humored caretaker/driver to assist our 90 year old Japanese mother who has short term memory loss. She is fluent in English but it would be great if the caregiver has interest in her culture. We are located in the North Hi Mount area of Fort Worth next to the Cultural District.
Secondly, we have a loved one who was in a car accident and has a traumatic brain injury. She has full time caregivers but we would like our new hire to work as a team and assist the caregivers with light housekeeping, laundry and dishes as needed.
Our mother needs:
A capable driver to take her to doctor's appointments and outings.
Meal preparation for breakfast and lunch.
Daily reminders, assistance.
Leading in daily chair exercises and physical strength activities.
Checking vitals and charting.
General supervision and support to avoid falls and accidents.
Light laundry and housekeeping of her bedroom and bathroom.
Assistance with showering and toileting
Overview and restocking her inventory.
We are in need of someone who is flexible and can commit to at least 3 days a week for a total of 24-30 hours per week.
Fridays: 8:00AM-4PM: 8 hours
Saturdays: 8:00AM-4PM: 8 hours
Sundays: 8:00AM-4PM: 8 hours
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's license
- Reliable transportation and insurance
- Performing light housekeeping duties (e.g., keeping room clean, laundry, cat dishes and litter)
- Comfortable in an one-on-one care-taking setting
- Ability to be a driver to and from appointments, errands, activities, etc.
- Comfortable in a family home with multiple cats. Ability to help with cleaning up after cats.
- Encouraging socialization and participation in community activities
- Communicating with families, co-workers and supervisors regarding care.
- Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Interest in Japanese culture or language is a plus.

Starting wage of $17 with eligibility for performance-based salary increase after 90 days of employment and evaluation.
