JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other special needs
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Engage individuals in social and recreational activities to promote overall well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals under your care
- Follow resident rights guidelines and ensure privacy and confidentiality
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information
Experience:
- Previous experience in patient care or caregiving roles is preferred
- Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities, dementia care, or in nursing home or assisted living settings is a plus
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and techniques is beneficial
- Experience in childcare or working with children is also valued
