I am a C5-6 paralyzed male looking for longtime caregivers with “QUALIFIED CAREGIVING EXPERIENCE”.
I prefer a male for my morning shift, or a woman strong enough to lift me (130 pounds) to and from my bed to wheelchair to shower bench and back. I am paralyzed from mid chest down with partial use of arms and limited hand function. I work, I drive and stay pretty busy. I temporarily reside in Duncanville but am moving within the next 60 days to Cedar Hill, midlothian, Mansfield or Grand Prairie area. I am looking for the right candidate to help me in the mornings to get up and ready for the day. I am needing someone who can work roughly 4 to 5 hours a day starting around 8am. My routine is fairly simple. I need someone in good Health with experience hoping someone paralyzed. Preferably someone familiar with indwelling catheter to help chang from overnight urine bag to leg bag. I will also need help getting dressed and helping with range of motion stretching/exercises. The rest is just needing an extra set of hands to help me set out or load up what I'll need for the day. I will also need help with meal preparation and some light chores like sweeping, laundry, dishes, etc. I like to keep my place neat.
Since I will be needing help seven days a week in the mornings and some overnight help more than one person will be needed for these positions.
