We are looking for a Sushi Chef/Kitchen Help for a small catering business. Responsibilities would include handling a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, managing food stock, and working with an attention to detail to fulfill all orders within quality standards. Previous food preparation experience with sushi (handrolls, nigiri, etc.) strongly preferred. Some shifts may start as early as 5am (only from Mon-Thurs), but do not go longer than 8 hours. You MUST be able to work in the Dallas area, please do not apply if you are unable to commute. Located off of Forest Lane & 75. (Boss is fluent in Korean if needed)
Responsibilities:
Prepare all types of sushi, including nigiri and sashimi
Prepare to-go sushi roll boxes with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce and apply the correct label
Manage food prep activities, such as boiling rice, slicing vegetables, etc.
Monitor food stock
Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift
Skills:
Work experience as a Sushi Chef strongly preferred
Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
Ability to work both fast and accurately
Availability to work in the early morning on scheduled weekdays
Flexibility to take on various shifts
No weekends!
