Responsible for overall Infrastructure design, balancing optimization of application access with resource use factors.
What you'll do
Supports customer technology infrastructure projects and integration architecture
Reviews project requests describing user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
Approves, schedules, plans and supervises the installation and testing of new products and improvements to current systems
Defines how technology and applications should be structured in order to align with business plans.
Works closely with Application Architects to determine the most effective design
Evaluates modern and emerging technologies to identify the impact on the business
Provides information needed to assess the risk of production deployment of a business critical application: installation and configuration readiness, performance and scalability evaluation, stability and durability evaluation, and best practices procedures.
Assesses the processes that will be used to operate, support and maintain the Enterprise implementation(s). Refine the deployment process and architecture so that it will easily scale to fit into an enterprise scope.
Assists in determining overall hardware and software configuration along with capacity projections and planning for future support of growing operations.
Needs to be extensible to changing platform requirements or other advancements in the distributed computing model.
Provides expertise during adoption of cloud technology platforms (IaaS, PaaS) .
Assists in determining Service Level Agreements (SLA's), for immediate needs/deployments, and enterprise SLA's to support ongoing operations, if any.
Develops performance, scalability, and durability evaluations and monitoring for load testing and real time.
Anticipates and act upon issues that arise, provide alternative approaches, optimal solution and continuously improving performance of applications
Creates and promotes patterns/technigues to foster DevOps adoption

Expert knowledge in networking, load balancing, UNIX, LDAP, storage, and databases solutions
Deep level of experience to leverage new and existing cloud services for data integration and visualization

Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive feedback
Strong experience with SOA, JEE, JMS, JDBC and middleware products
Experience on designing and implementing highly available solutions for mission critical applications
Must have a solid understanding of various virtualization technologies
Must be able to document solutions for various level of audiences Education/Experience
Thorough understanding of software development life cycles, development and technology tools, testing methodologies, and requirements gathering
Experience with various cloud platforms like IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure
Experience with the operations characteristics of large scale and highly available computer systems deployed in a variety of software and hardware environments
Knowledge of systems integration practices and understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles and practices
Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships with stakeholders
Ability to adapt to unexpected events, new facts and rapidly changing circumstances
Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
