Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Architectural/Building Design Project Manager based in Austin, Houston, or Dallas, TX, to join our team as we capture, lead, and execute interdisciplinary building design projects with a focus on Higher Education or Public Safety/Municipal Work. Our team operates in a cross-discipline, collaborative, and design-focused environment. This role will be responsible for managing the proposal, scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects.AECOM provides a unique opportunity to lead a team of individuals bringing world class expertise, with a collaborative mindset, working to deliver projects that move the world forward. Acting as a primary point of contact with the client throughout the project lifecycle

Working with interdisciplinary technical leads in the coordinated successful execution of projects in design and construction

Working with local and regional business development staff and business line leadership to identify and pursue clients and projects

Reviewing contracts, preparing fee proposals and project execution strategies

Managing and leading all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using established processes and tools

Managing sub-consultant scope, fees, deliverables, and performance

Leading the team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within the scope, and within budget

Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk

Performing risk management to minimize project risks

Maintaining project documentation control

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering or related field plus eight (8) years of experience in Project Management on Higher Education Projects or Public Safety Projects or related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Licensed architect or registered engineer (mechanical/HVAC or structural)

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary teams, and meeting scope/schedule/budget

Detail-oriented, methodical, meticulous, process-oriented, yet open to change and motivated by innovation

Advanced knowledge of planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration, and code requirements

Experience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and managing multiple project types with an emphasis on design, sustainability, and innovation

Innovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to manage people and projects through strong demonstrated organizational skills

Strong skills in the full suite of MS Office applications

Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales team

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients

Be a great collaborator and communicator

Ambitious self-starter with a get-it-done attitude who strives for excellence
