MinimumSpecifications
Education
- Must havea HighSchool diploma or GED.
- Preferredsomecollegecourses.
- PreferredcompletionofACPEorASHPaccreditedpharmacytechniciantrainingprogram.
Experience
- Prefersexperienceinpriorpharmacytechnicianhealthsystemrolessuchasinpatientpharmacy,IV/Infusionpharmacy,retailpharmacy,mailorderpharmacy,and/orpharmacyrepackaging.
EquivalentEducationand/orExperience
Certification/Registration/Licensure
- MustholdacurrentCertifiedPharmacy Technician(CPhT)certificationbyexamfromtheNationalPharmacyTechnician
CertificationBoard(PTCE)ortheNationalHealthcareAssociation (ExCPT).
- MusthavecurrentregistrationwiththeTexasStateBoardofPharmacy.
- Failuretopassexamination orcomply withprimaryrequirements willresultinterminationortheopportunitytoapplyforapostednon-pharmacytechnicianpositionwithParkland
RequiredTestsforPlacement
- Mustcompleteapre-employmentpolygraphtest.
- Mustbeableto passPharmacy mathandspellingtestwithaminimum scoreof 80%.
SkillsorSpecialAbilities
- Mustbeabletodemonstrateaworking knowledgeofaPC,andbeabletolearnandusenewsoftware.
- Mustsuccessfullycompletethenecessarytrainingrequirementstoperformcashierdutieswithin90daysfrominitial employment.
- Mustbeabletodemonstratebasiccomputerskillsforareaofresponsibility.
- Mustbeabletodemonstrateknowledgeandskillsintheoperationofequipment usedinprimarypracticearea.
- Mustbeabletodemonstratebasicknowledgeofdifferenttypesofdrugs.
