JOB SUMMARYLocation HTPN Downtown Dallas TXDepartment AP Histology LabShift Day 8:00am - 5:00pmPreferred Experience Must be ASCP HT or HTL certified with at least 3 yrs of experience Must be able to assist on formulating and updating policies and procedures Competent in all areas of histology dutiesThe Histotechnician 3 performs and monitors a variety of anatomic procedures and processes, assumes responsibility for problem resolutions, training others on all aspects of the department with minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.

Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.

Recognize and take appropriate action when established procedures and policies are not followed.

Perform instrument maintenance, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and troubleshooting as needed.

Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.

Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.

Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods, technical skills and provide direction to others.

Performs all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Assume leadership responsibility in the absence of Supervisor/Manager.

Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions.

Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures.

Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
