Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsAdherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shiftJob DescriptionThe Field Application Specialist will travel to customer facilities (ex: hospitals and clinical labs) to provide microbiology instrument and consumable product training and support. Assist with technical product literature, training resources, and technical investigations when needed.Key Responsibilities:
Provide training at the customer site on product use and instrument operation, including troubleshooting
Provide post training follow up to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
Development of internal and external training materials
Interpret customers’ needs and clarify responsibilities for problem resolution of field support, sales, customer support or technical support
Manage training schedule and independently book travel arrangements
Schedule training at customer sites
Ensure high customer satisfaction through improving their experience with our products
Coordinate technical teleconferences
Provide assistance to sales and marketing through training, defining customer requirements, and assisting with customer requested customizations
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in applicable field with solid understanding of microbiology and microbiology lab practices
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and software problems
Demonstrate highly developed verbal, written, and presentation skills
Clearly communicate directions
Highly developed organization skills
Understanding of good laboratory practice and techniques
Proficiency in computer applications
Ability to travel 80% – 100% during peak periods and with as little as 24 hours notice
Ability to work independently with little supervision from a home office
Strongly Preferred:
Proven understanding of AST
Knowledge of FDA Regulations and understanding of CLSI, CAP and CLIA requirements relating to customer needs
History of providing training or teaching /instruction
