Position Summary

A loving elderly couple in their 90s in North Dallas, Texas, is seeking a warm, dedicated full-time caregiver and companion. In this role, you will become a trusted helper and friend, providing both practical support and genuine emotional companionship. The schedule is Monday through Friday, daytime hours, and the position will begin as a live-out arrangement. There is potential to transition to a live-in role over time, offering an opportunity to become an even more integral part of the couple’s daily life. This is a wonderful chance for a conscious, caring individual who approaches caregiving with empathy, patience, and a heart-centered mindset.

Core Responsibilities

Personal Care & Mobility: Provide gentle assistance with daily routines – helping with mobility around the home, support with bathing/grooming, and offering reminders for medications. Ensure the couple feels safe and respected during all care activities.

Housekeeping & Meals: Perform light housekeeping to keep the home tidy and comfortable (laundry, dishes, general organizing). Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks, and assist with feeding when necessary, while being mindful of any dietary needs or preferences.

Companionship: Offer friendly companionship and emotional support throughout the day. Engage in meaningful conversation, share hobbies or activities, take walks together, or simply be a caring, patient presence ready to listen. Your grounded and positive presence will help brighten their days.

Errands & Transportation: Assist with driving the couple to appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands as needed. A valid driver’s license and safe, reliable transportation are required. You’ll help them stay connected with their community and maintain routines outside the home.

Administrative Support: Help with light admin tasks such as sorting mail, drafting emails, organizing documents, and occasional use of basic AI tools (e.g. voice assistants or simple apps) to draft notes or set reminders. Being comfortable with basic technology is important for this aspect of the role.

Personal Projects: Support the couple with personal projects that bring them joy. For example, you may help outline a memoir by recording their stories, organize family photos, or assist in writing letters. Encourage their creativity and reminiscence.

Ideal Candidate Qualities

We are looking for a caregiver who is experienced in elderly care and truly passionate about companionship. Important qualities include:

Emotionally Intelligent & Heart-Centered: You are emotionally mature, spiritually grounded, and self-aware. You approach caregiving with empathy, kindness, and respect, creating a safe space for the couple to trust and feel cared for.

Calm & Reliable Presence: You bring a calm, grounded energy into the home. Patience, dependability, and a good sense of humor help you navigate the ups and downs of the day while maintaining a warm, supportive atmosphere.

Organized & Proactive: You are organized and attentive to details. Whether it’s managing a medication schedule or keeping the household tidy, you take initiative to ensure everything runs smoothly without needing to be asked.

Service-Minded: You have a genuine desire to be of service. You find joy in helping others and go the extra mile to improve someone’s day. You respect personal boundaries and adapt to the couple’s preferences and routines.

Good Communicator: You communicate clearly and kindly, listening as much as you speak. You can follow instructions, give updates to family members if needed, and you’re comfortable engaging in conversation with the couple while respecting their stories and privacy.

Tech-Savvy & Resourceful: You have basic computer skills – able to send emails, print documents, use a smartphone or tablet – and are open to learning new tools (like simple AI apps) that can aid in caregiving tasks.

Driving & Location: You hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for running errands or appointments. Ideally, you are already based in the North Dallas area or open to relocating for a future live-in arrangement.

Compensation & Trial Period

Monthly Stipend: $2,000 – $3,500 per month, commensurate with experience and the scope of responsibilities. Pay will be discussed based on your qualifications and the level of care you can provide.

Live-In Benefits: If and when the role transitions to a live-in position, comfortable housing and utilities will be provided at no cost to you, in addition to the monthly stipend. This offers peace of mind and a home-like work environment.

Trial Period: We may begin with a short trial phase (with fewer hours or days) to ensure a good mutual fit. During this time (which will be paid), both you and the couple can make sure the arrangement feels right before committing to a full-time schedule.

To Apply

If you feel called to this opportunity and meet the above qualifications, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume, a brief introduction about yourself (highlighting your caregiving experience and what draws you to this role), and relevant references. We are looking for someone to start soon, and finding the right heart-centered caregiver is very important to us.

Thank you for considering this role. We believe the right person will become like an extended part of the family, making a meaningful difference in our loved ones’ lives.
