Survey Crew Chief, Rodman/Instrument Man Available – Award Surveying is growing land surveying firm in Azle Texas that is expanding the company’s field staff.
Award Surveying is in search of candidates that have strong skills with hands on work experience of a Survey Crew Chief, Rodman/Instrument Man. Duties will include: perform Commercial and Residential Land Title Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Plats, Elevation Certificates and builder work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTS
State of Texas Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record
Interprets previous survey evidence, maps, plats, deeds, physical evidence to obtain data necessary for task at hand.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as be a team player
Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must
Good communication skills and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Plan, organize, direct and review work of one or more survey personnel engaged in field surveys to complete Cat 1A, Cat 1B, Cat 6, ALTA, topographic, construction layout, as-built, tree, elevation certificates, and other surveys
Prepare and maintain survey notes to company standards or verbal instructions
Accurately calculate, record and review field data gathered so that the information is clear and understandable
Ability to properly and effectively supervise the survey crew daily activity for efficiency and safety purposes
Experience working with Trimble utilizing Trimble Access. Not necessary, but helpful

WORK ENVIROMENT
Work is performed in an outdoor environment with various client settings and moderate noise levels. This job frequently requires the employee to stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, sit, read, talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 ounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee should never attempt to lift more than 50 pounds without proper lifting aids unless otherwise approved.

PERFORM HEAVY DUTY ACTIVITIES OUTDOORS
Stand in the sun with equipment for at least 8 hours a day;
Hike and walk all day with supplies & equipment through mud, ice, dirt, vegetated or otherwise unstable grounds;
Hammer iron rods into the ground;
Cut line through heavily wooded areas with machetes, axes or other hand operated tools;
Traverse obstacles inside and outside the bounds of properties;
Safely and legally operate a motor vehicle
