Retail Store Manager

Thrift Town seeks an enthusiastic, hard worker who will strategically align with the company’s core values, initiatives, and culture. The Store Manager role would possess the skill set necessary to increase profitable sales in a highly competitive environment. This would be accomplished through providing legendary customer service, ensuring all safety standards are met, loss prevention, team development, production efficiencies, and merchandised stores (clean, full, straight, and organized). Enforcing and holding the team accountable for established roles, performance expectations, and goals while providing coaching, teaching, and training with consistent feedback will be critical to this role. This is a full-time on-site role for a Retail Store Manager in the Albuquerque - Santa Fe Metropolitan Area. This role would directly report to the Sr. Director of Retail Operations.

Role and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the entire management team, employees, and overall store operations. This includes walking the store each day, store opening and closing, all while identifying and addressing opportunities to improve.

Writing sales and labor forecast/schedules each week that meets the expectations outlined above as well as the demands of the customers and store.

Creating a legendary customer service atmosphere both internally and externally. Serves as an ambassador for customer complaints and grievances.

Setting clear expectations and holding each employee accountable to those expectations and company policies and procedures.

Development of the entire management team and all employees (recruiting, hiring, coaching, teaching, training, and cross-training), creating a positive and fun work environment while enforcing all store policies and procedures, thus reducing turnover.

Maintaining proper store conditions, including but not limited to signage, clean and neat merchandising, cleaning, store maintenance, and complying with all regulatory agencies.

Managing labor daily

Inventory management and proper rotation.

P & L management and implementing changes that positively impact the bottom line without hurting customer service or store conditions.

Exhibit excellent open communication skills, contribute actively to meetings, provide clear and constructive feedback, facilitate communication amongst your team, and review/reply to all communication multiple times a day.

Promote a positive team spirit, actively contribute to team success, support team members, and promote healthy diversity.

Maintain strict confidentiality in all work-related matters and consistently uphold Thrift Town's core values and beliefs.

Demonstrate strong project management skills, meet deadlines consistently, and actively seek professional development opportunities.

Display inclusivity, sensitivity for other’s tribulations, and empathy in interactions to foster respect for differences in gender, background, and culture.

Manage and organize (you, your teams) time so that all deadlines are met (ordering, receiving, computer work, deposits, reports, projects, etc.)

Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Two years of retail leadership experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager:

Self-driven and motivated with the ability to collaborate with others well.

High School Diploma combined with prior experience in retail stores.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.

Experience in the thrift store industry is a plus.

This is a salaried position with the ability to work a flexible schedule to include opening and closing shifts and extended hours during peak business.

Takes initiative to reach new levels of performance.

Excellent communication and customer service skills; Bi-lingual a plus.

Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

Proven track record of in-store management.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Experience in retail loss prevention.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Strong recommendations from previous supervisors.
