Job Title: PhlebotomistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. You will be responsible for collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, as well as updating patient information and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Properly explain the venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.
Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label them, and follow specific procedures for transport to maintain specimen integrity.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
