Job Title: Patient Access CoordinatorJob DescriptionThe Patient Access Coordinator will manage patient check-ins and check-outs, verify patient information, collect payments, and schedule appointments. This role also involves contacting patients regarding no-shows or rescheduling, sending out dictated letters, and assisting in the back office as needed. The coordinator will work with multiple Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.Responsibilities
Check in and check out patients
Verify patient date of birth and insurance information
Collect payments via credit card or check
Create appointments for patients checking out
Contact patients for no-shows or rescheduling appointments
Send out dictated letters from the doctor via email to patients
Assist in the back office of the clinic as needed
Essential Skills
Experience with electronic health records
Appointment scheduling
Patient care
Patient education
Insurance verification
1 year of medical experience (preferably in ophthalmology or front office medical experience)
High level of customer service skills
Work Environment
The Patient Access Coordinator will work Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM. Occasionally, shifts may extend to 8:00 PM with overtime pay.
The role involves traveling in a company van to Brenham 2-3 times a week, with paid travel time.
The coordinator will always travel from the Cypress clinic.
The dress code requires navy blue scrubs and tennis shoes.
This collaborative role involves working alongside other patient access coordinators and directly with physicians.
