Responsibilities:
Check blueprints and building designs in order to determine the right places to place concrete in.
Confer superintendents to decide timelines.
Build and lay out concrete forms according to specified instructions.
Saw materials in accordance with blueprint dimensions.
Use equipment and tools such as hand and power saws, and hammers to perform setting work.
Insert spreaders, and tie rods between opposite faces of forms.
Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects by using nails, and steel cables.
Check all installed forms in order to ensure that they are properly constructed.
Set forms to desired pitches and depth, as well as align them properly.
Mold expansion joints and edges using tools such as edging tools, jointers, and straightedges.
Monitor the effects of wind, heat, and cold on concrete forms.
Signal truck containing concrete in order to help them pour concrete in a proper manner.
Produce rough concrete surfaces, and use brooms and other items to smooth them out.
Direct the casting of concrete.
Supervise laborers as they set concrete forms into place.
Mix appropriate quantities of sand, cement, and water to produce concrete and grout.
Cut out damaged areas, and fix them properly.
Clean chipped areas, and grind high spots.
Place roofing paper on foundation surfaces.
Build wooden molds, and clamp them together.
Sprinkle colored marble or chips in order to provide the prescribed finish.
Qualifications:
1 year construction experience is preferable, but not required
High School or GED equivalent (preferred)
A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
US Work Authorization
Bilingual (preferred)
Ability to occasionally travel
Unrestricted lifting ability
Ability to climb a ladder, kneel, and crawl
Ability to work overtime if needed
Ability to work 10 hours shifts (day shifts)
Ability to work outside through inclement weather
Work Monday to Friday
