Rotating shifts.Job Profile SummaryAssist with or perform activities related to operation and maintenance of oil and gas liquid processing facilities under supervision.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Monitors and moves and sets controls to control process variables, such as flows, temperatures, and pressures to operate heaters, furnaces, compressors, exchangers, towers, etc.; regulate pumps and compressors; take instrument readings; product sampling; make equipment adjustments to optimize performance; daily visual rounds and inspections of processing unit, supporting equipment, tanks, etc.; prep equipment for scheduled maintenance; instrument and equipment troubleshooting; monitor all product movements in to and out of the processing unit; gauges products transferred to and from tanks; performs valve lineups, switch and tank changes as required to move product in and out of storage tanks; measurement of product and meters; input product and/or other data into system applications as required.
Assist technicians with maintenance duties as directed; maintain location appearance; assist drivers and others, perform truck rack, and vessel operations duties as assigned; serves as a team member of the plant Turnaround team responsible for prepping for processing unit shutdown and startup.
Responsible for completing and maintaining required documentation and records per regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA, PSM, etc) and Company safety and operational standards and procedures.
Maintain a working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) and company policies/procedures as they relate to the operation/maintenance of the assigned asset, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices.
Executes operations safely and follows all safety requirements.
Participates on the facility emergency response team, and attends and actively participates in required safety training meetings.
Responsible for other projects and/or assignments as assigned by the Supervisor.
Assist with or operate processing plant equipment including, but not limited to:
Compressors
Motors
Engines
Cooling equipment
Auxiliary units
Pumps
Turbines
Treating systems
Operate loading/unloading rack (as specified by position)
Monitor and control equipment operating conditions
Start, stop, and operate equipment
Assist with equipment preparation for maintenance activities including, but not limited to:
Permitting
Lock out tag out
Decommissioning
Assist mechanics and others in performing repairs to equipment
Identify and report any safety and/or environmental concerns
Compile and/or maintain information such as time sheets, work logs, safety/environmental forms, and equipment maintenance and repair records
Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles
Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Work Experience
2 years experience in the refinery processing industry, preferably refinery or chemical process operator experience, or equivalent experience from another field/industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: compressor station, storage field, gathering field, and/or processing plant operations
Knowledge of: computers. Demonstrated ability to access and/or perform basic computer functions utilizing company software applications.
