We are on the lookout for an experienced Finance Director / Corporate Controller to lead our financial management operations including internal control. This role is central to maintaining our company's fiscal integrity, ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and managing our comprehensive accounting functions.

Job Description:

The Finance Director / Corporate Controller will head our financial accounting and reporting processes, managing everything from joint venture (JV) accounting to operational and sales accounting. This role is crucial in overseeing the financial aspects of our partnerships, the day-to-day financial transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial results. The ideal candidate will be have deep experience in the production of financial statements for a public company and supervising a staff.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the preparation and timely filing of annual and quarterly financial statements in compliance with IFRS.

- Direct and manage financial reporting for joint ventures, ensuring alignment with JV agreements and IFRS.

- Spearhead the operational accounting functions, including cost accounting, inventory management, and overhead cost analysis.

- Oversee sales accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition and alignment with IFRS standards.

- Manage the accounts payable department, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate payment processing.

- Enhance and maintain a strong internal control environment to ensure the reliability of financial records and the protection of assets.

- Develop the accounting policies for new for one off transactions with a keen focus on maintaining IFRS compliance.

- Oversee legal entity reporting and consolidation, ensuring the financial integrity of all reports.

- Drive continuous improvement in the finance department, automating and streamlining processes where possible.

- Provide leadership to the finance team, nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.

- Extensive experience in financial management within a public company, with a solid grasp of IFRS.

- Experience with JV accounting and operational and sales accounting within a complex corporate structure.

- Demonstrated ability to manage a comprehensive accounts payable function.

- Strong leadership and personnel management skills with a track record of building and mentoring successful teams.

- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and senior management.

- Advanced competency in financial software and accounting systems, with an emphasis on process improvement through technology.

- 15+ years of experience

- Big 4 experience preferred
