We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, is safety-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, team environment. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other mechanical components.
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with company and government safety standards.
Keep accurate maintenance records and work orders.
Collaborate with the maintenance team and report major repair needs to supervisors.
Order necessary parts and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Respond to breakdowns or emergency repair requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
2+ years of experience working as a diesel mechanic (or apprenticeship completion).
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment systems.
Familiarity with diagnostic software and computerized maintenance systems.
Valid driver’s license.
ASE Diesel Certification is a plus.
The ability to lift heavy equipment and parts (up to 75 lbs.), and work in varying conditions.
