We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Machine Operator. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain forging machinery such as presses, hammers, and upsetters, ensuring high-quality production of metal components. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forging equipment including mechanical and hydraulic presses, hammers, and trimming machines.
Set up machines according to production specifications (dies, temperatures, speeds, etc.).
Monitor production processes and adjust ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines to ensure operational efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
Inspect forged parts for surface defects, cracks, and other imperfections using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Document production output and machine parameters in production logs.
Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
2-3 years of experience operating industrial machinery, preferably in a forging or metalworking environment.
Familiarity with forging processes and basic metallurgy is preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and working in high-heat environments.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Exposure to loud noise, high heat, and heavy machinery.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and metatarsal guard steel-toe boots.
