Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care (ICU / PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a full time day shift position.

The Critical Care floor is a 21 bed combined Intensive Care and Progressive Care unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care to treat critically ill patients with a variety of life-threatening medical, cardiovascular, neurological, and surgical needs.

Our highly skilled team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to keeping our patients and their family healthy.

Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care (ICU / PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a full time day shift position.

The Critical Care floor is a 21 bed combined Intensive Care and Progressive Care unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care to treat critically ill patients with a variety of life-threatening medical, cardiovascular, neurological, and surgical needs.

Responsibilities

Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care

Assists physicians during examinations and procedures

Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse

Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills

Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals

Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire

American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 90 days of hire

Minimum two (2) years of recent ICU / Critical Care experience in an acute care hospital setting required
