Non-Tenure: Clinical Faculty (Part-Time) Nursing Location Bryan, TX Open Date 10/7/2024 Position ID 150066 Description The College of Nursing at Texas A&M University is seeking three faculty members with experience in academic nursing education for part-time clinical faculty instructors for the Bryan, TX campus. The primary responsibility for this position is the clinical education of our students in the clinical setting which are most frequently held on Thursdays and Fridays. This position will teach undergraduate or graduate clinical courses depending on the need of the school and the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Applicants will be considered for the non-tenure track title of Clinical Faculty. The position is expected to have a 4-month spring or 2.5-month summer contract beginning as early as January 1, 2024.The College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Traditional, Second degree, and RN to BSN), MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN-Nursing Education, MSN-Forensic Nursing, DNP, graduate certificate in Forensic Health Care and PMHNP post-graduate certificate. Future plans include a PhD program and additional graduate and post-graduate certificate programs. We are a growing school within Texas A&M University with programs located in Bryan, Texas (primary location), Round Rock, Texas and a new campus location in McAllen is planned for Spring 2026.The College of Nursing is one of five colleges that comprise the Texas A&M Health Science Center. Instruction in the school of nursing is complex, given the practice nature of the discipline, and includes content and clinical mastery. These expectations are broadly described as expectations to:
Develop new courses according to curriculum and accreditation standards.
Prepare course materials and examinations that are current, evaluated, and revised to improve student learning.
Teach effectively in the classroom, clinical settings, and/or online environment.
Select and manage quality clinical learning experiences in a variety of settings.
Provide competent clinical supervision of students.
Evaluate student performance effectively.
Advise and mentor students for academic success.
Maintain posted office hours.
Collaborate with and mentor faculty peers.
Maintain clinical currency and relevant certifications.
The anticipated start date is as early as January 1, 2024.Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree and currently enrolled in a masters in nursing program and has completed at least 50% of the required course work; or hold a BSN degree and a master’s degree in another field with appropriate credits in graduate studies in nursing
Preferred Education:
Masters of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Required Experience:
Two or more years of recent nursing practice experience is required.
Required Registrations, Certifications and Licenses:
Candidate must hold an unencumbered RN license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience teaching face-to-face or online at the baccalaureate level
Experience in a clinical specialty area of nursing or experience in rural nursing or nursing care of underserved populations
