Job Purpose and ImpactThe Generalist Chemical Plant Operator I, will operate, perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot basic issues for a series of machines and equipment in the use of chemicals to produce consumer products following established policies and procedures and frequent guidance. In this role, you will work in assigned areas to ensure production goals are met, support quality production and maximize throughput while following all safety and regulatory policies.Key Accountabilities

Operate equipment, technology tools and chemical, mechanical or thermal processes in assigned areas of the facility, learn and utilize basic understanding to perform foundational, clearly defined processes.

Use power tools, basic hand tools and electrical tools to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot routine machine performance issues and assist with more complex maintenance work.

Support the production process to ensure products meet specifications, with frequent guidance.

Identify continuous improvement of facility operations relative to areas of responsibility, with limited authority to make changes as defined by management.

Learn operating procedures, receive input from peers and may provide feedback on clarity and effectiveness of guidance and procedure documentation.

Interact with complex computerized system to record production, control inventory to meet internal and external customer needs and may unload raw materials, load finished products onto trucks, railcars, etc., requiring operation of mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, unloaders, etc.

Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, maintain a safe and clean work environment and control work pace and progress on assigned equipment and processes, requiring awareness of links with other process areas.
