The Diesel Fleet Mechanic III performs maintenance tasks for company assets and assists maintenance staff with overhauling minor components and installing replacements, with electrical, hydraulic and computer diagnostics and with scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance. This position also responds to service and road calls.
At least three years of heavy truck or equipment maintenance experience including experience performing maintenance on Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment
Must possess own tools
Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brakes, wheel end, electrical components, troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
Familiarity with shop equipment and OEM diagnostic software, such as Tech tool, Cummins Insite, Allison Doc, Bendix, etc.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Demonstrated aptitude for maintaining and repairing equipment
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate document daily work and progress, track procurements and repair status
Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety
Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co-workers
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
High school diploma or its equivalent
Formal diesel and heavy equipment training
Completion of an accredited technical school two-year program
Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified or ability to obtain certification
Valid Class C driver’s license
Record of safe driving for the last three years
Current State Inspector License or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment
