Plumbing Estimator / Project Manager
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Plumbing Estimator/Project Manager to manage the end-to-end estimating process and support project execution for our plumbing division. This role plays a key part in analyzing bid opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and ensuring the successful handoff and startup of awarded projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with plumbing systems, and the ability to coordinate across departments to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Pipeline Management
Review bid invitations and maintain a dynamic estimating schedule to optimize workload and maximize win potential.
Analyze plans, specifications, schedules, and geotechnical reports to generate accurate takeoffs and cost estimates.
Monitor and maintain the plumbing Sales Pipeline to ensure a steady flow of quality opportunities that align with company capacity and goals.
Collaborate with the President/CEO to assess pipeline health, track bid status, and identify priority targets.
Request and evaluate supplier and vendor quotes for accuracy and compliance with scope and specs.
Identify constructability issues, plan conflicts, and scope gaps; submit pre-bid RFIs as needed.
Client & Team Communication
Engage with clients to confirm bid intentions, clarify plans, and communicate assumptions and exclusions.
Attend site walks and conduct field assessments to better inform estimates.
Prepare and submit detailed, professional plumbing bid proposals on or before deadlines.
Work closely with the Plumbing Department Head to execute smooth hand-offs for awarded projects and ensure readiness for startup.
Project Coordination & Support
Assist the Department Head and Design Manager in aligning scope details with BIM and design deliverables.
Track and evaluate plan changes or revisions during project execution; prepare cost impacts and change order estimates accordingly.
Support ongoing project needs by providing updated takeoffs and cost projections for scope changes or additional work.
Stay current on commodity price trends and market conditions; alert leadership to potential risks related to material costs and availability.
