Job Description
As a Contract AV Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, wiring, and configuration of audio, video, and network systems. This role requires a self-starter who can manage tasks independently, troubleshoot issues on-site, and ensure installations meet client specifications and industry standards. Projects may vary in scope and duration, offering variety and the chance to work on cutting-edge AV technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Install and configure AV systems, including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, and control panels.
Perform network, audio, and video wiring, ensuring proper cable management, termination, and testing for optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, such as signal interference, connectivity problems, or equipment compatibility.
Collaborate with clients or project managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions efficiently.
Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and regulations.
Document installations, including diagrams, configurations, and any modifications made.
Requirements
Proven experience in AV installation, with strong knowledge of network, audio, and video wiring techniques.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, managing time and resources effectively.
Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, cable testers, crimping tools).
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site projects.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., CTS, AVIXA) are a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience with smart home integration, IP-based AV systems, or Crestron/AMX programming.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for client interactions and reporting.
Compensation
Competitive contract rates based on experience and project scope. Payments issued upon project completion.
